Several modern Yamahas — the R15, MT-15 and Aerox — are liquid-cooled with variable valve actuation, and the Fascino and RayZR 125 use a hybrid-assist starter-generator. Common Yamaha problems we fix
R15 / MT-15 running hot
Low coolant, old coolant or a radiator choked with road dirt. We flush, refill and check the fan.
FZ hesitating at low revs
A dirty throttle body or air filter often causes hesitation. Cleaning usually fixes it.
Chain wearing fast
Sporty riding and monsoon water wear chains faster. Regular cleaning and lubing extends chain life.
Fascino not starting smoothly
The hybrid starter system depends on a healthy battery. We test the battery and charging first.
Brake squeal on disc models
Dust and glazed pads cause squeal. Caliper cleaning or new pads solve it.
Yamaha service, puncture & battery
General service
Yamaha service at our workshop covers engine oil and oil filter as per model, air filter, spark plug, throttle body cleaning when needed, coolant level (or flush when due) on liquid-cooled models, chain clean-lube-adjust, disc brake pad inspection, battery and charging check, lights and switches, and a test ride. Puncture & tyres
Almost every current Yamaha runs tubeless tyres, so most punctures are fixed with a plug in about 10–15 minutes. For R15 and MT-15 riders, we'll check that the tyre is safe for higher speeds after repair and tell you straight if it should be replaced instead. Puncture repair
Battery
Yamaha's fuel-injected bikes and hybrid scooters are sensitive to low battery voltage — weak batteries can cause hard starting or warning lights. We test for free and replace with a correctly specified branded battery. Battery replacement
Mechanic's tip: Owner tip: use the coolant type recommended by Yamaha and never top up an R15 or MT-15 with plain tap water — it can cause corrosion over time.
